External Training resources

SERVIR host free training material on using GIS for remote sensing (QGIS, Google Earth Engine, OSGeo4W). From time-to-time they also offer free training webinars.

NASA ARSET offer workshops and webinars in the use of their datasets for a range of Remote Sensing applications (often using the GIOVANNI online system).

The European Space Agency similarly have specific training activities for different research interests. They also provide video walkthroughs and other tutorials for using SNAP (their free Sentinel satellite data processing software).

Google EarthEngine is a free online GIS system. They offer tutorials which simultaneously introduce participants to EarthEngine and using JavaScript, and have recently launched a YouTube webinar series.

GLaSS (The Global Lakes Sentinel Services project) provide training material for water quality analysis from Sentinel-2/3 in SNAP.

A Gentle Introduction to QGIS – Very good introduction to GIS terminology, methods and using QGIS for beginners.
